The Problem:

Healthcare environments present unique safety challenges. Staff need to identify hazards across diverse settings while maintaining Spire's commitment to excellence in patient care and staff wellbeing.

The challenge: transform mandatory health and safety training from a box-ticking exercise into a meaningful development opportunity that actually changes behaviour.

Our Approach:

We began with thorough consultation, working closely with Spire's health and safety specialist to understand their unique requirements and challenges. This collaborative approach ensured our instructional design would reflect both regulatory necessities and practical workplace realities.

Building the Solution:

Articulate Rise Platform:
We created a responsive, modern learning experience accessible across all devices. The platform allowed us to deliver engaging content that works whether staff are on desktop, tablet, or mobile.

Interactive Storyline Blocks:
We incorporated custom interactive elements developed in Articulate 360 to enhance engagement and knowledge retention. The module uses storyline blocks giving learners opportunities to practice hazard perception in various healthcare environments.

This approach allows staff to practice identifying risks in a safe, virtual space before applying these skills in their actual work settings.

Custom Visual System:
Visual consistency was paramount. We developed a custom graphic system aligned with Spire Healthcare's brand guidelines whilst enhancing the learning experience. Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, we created bespoke illustrations and modified stock elements from Envato to ensure all visual components served both educational and aesthetic purposes.

Robust Assessment:
The module includes assessment components that not only evaluate knowledge retention but also gauge confidence in applying health and safety protocols in real situations.
