Sometimes the photography gods smile on you.

Perfect weather. Perfect talent. Perfect location. Perfect light.

Our recent shoot with Eastfield Glamping Farm was one of those rare days where everything just worked.

The Brief:

Eastfield Glamping Farm came to us with a clear vision: they needed fresh content for their social media, website, and promotional materials that captured the cosy, romantic vibe of autumn glamping.

Not stock photos. Not generic lifestyle shots. Real, authentic content that showed what it actually feels like to escape to their glamping pods.

The Challenge:

Here's the thing about hospitality photography: It needs to look effortless and natural while being completely planned and executed.

We needed to show:

  • The romance of a couples' getaway

  • The comfort and luxury of the pods

  • The beauty of the autumn setting

  • The experience, not just the accommodation

All while making it look like we just happened to capture genuine moments.

The Process:

1. Discovery Meeting

We started with a detailed conversation with the Eastfield team to understand:

  • What vibe they wanted to convey

  • Their target audience (couples, romantic getaways)

  • Specific shots they needed (social, website, promotional)

  • The aesthetic they were going for

  • What outcomes would make this shoot a success

This wasn't just "take some pretty pictures." We needed to understand their brand story and how to tell it visually.

2. Casting the Talent

For authenticity, we needed real people, not models who looked like they stepped out of a catalogue.

We cast two actors to play a young couple enjoying a glamping getaway. The goal was natural chemistry and genuine reactions - people you could actually imagine staying at the farm.

After reviewing options, we found our perfect couple. Young, relatable, and comfortable in front of the camera.

3. The Shoot Day

Here's where the photography gods came in.

Autumn weather in the UK is... unpredictable. We'd planned for rain, wind, grey skies - the usual suspects.

Instead? Sunshine. Perfect golden-hour lighting. Not a drop of rain in sight.

We met our talent on location and briefed them on the shots we needed. Mike from Mike Lester Photography joined us as second camera, giving us multiple angles and perspectives throughout the day.

The Magic of Second Camera:

Having Mike as second camera was crucial. While I focused on the main narrative shots, he captured:

  • Alternative angles

  • Behind-the-scenes moments

  • Candid reactions

  • Detail shots

This gave us twice the content and ensured we didn't miss any magical moments.

What We Captured:

The day gave us a complete visual story:

  • Arrival and first impressions

  • Exploring the pods

  • Cosy interior moments

  • Outdoor activities

  • Golden hour couple shots

  • Detail shots of the amenities

  • Atmospheric autumn scenery

Every shot was designed to answer the question: "What does it feel like to stay here?"

The Technical Stuff (For Fellow Photographers):

  • Lighting: We used natural light and a selection of Godox Strobes

  • Direction: Minimal posing, maximum natural interaction - we gave scenarios, not poses

  • Equipment: We used our trusty Panasonic S5IIX and Lumix Lenses and Mike his favoured Canon R5

  • Post-Processing: Warm, inviting tones to emphasize the autumn atmosphere and match Eastfields branding.

The Results:

The client's social media exploded.

Comments. Shares. Saves. Bookings.

The content resonated because it felt real. People could imagine themselves in those moments.

That's the difference between content that performs and content that just exists.

Why This Shoot Worked:

1. Clear Brief
We knew exactly what success looked like before we started shooting.

2. Perfect Casting
Our talent looked like real people having a genuine experience.

3. Weather Luck
Sometimes you need the universe on your side. This time, we got it.

4. Team Collaboration
Having Mike as second camera doubled our creative output.

5. Authentic Moments
We directed scenarios, not poses. The difference shows.

Lessons for Your Next Commercial Shoot:

Before the Shoot:

  • Have a detailed discovery meeting

  • Understand the brand story you're telling

  • Cast talent that matches your audience

  • Plan for bad weather (and celebrate when you get good weather)

  • Consider a second camera for coverage

During the Shoot:

  • Direct scenarios, not poses

  • Capture both hero shots and supporting content

  • Get detail shots - they're invaluable for social media

  • Stay flexible - some of the best shots are unplanned

After the Shoot:

  • Process with the brand aesthetic in mind

  • Deliver more than just the "hero" images

  • Include variety for different platforms and uses

Our Favourite Shots:

That's enough talking about it. Here are some of our favourite photos from the day.
